Your Opportunity:

Youth Addiction and Mental Health Services Edmonton has an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Therapist Provincial within the role of an Addiction and Mental Health Therapist (AMHT). The AMHT works as a member of an interdisciplinary team, providing client-centered, recovery-oriented assessment, treatment, psychotherapy, support, group facilitation, follow-up, and case management to youth experiencing concurrent disorders. Screening, assessment, treatment, and referral services are provided in an outpatient, community, clinic environment. As an Addiction and Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) with persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Description:

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

A master's degree in counselling psychology is preferred. Formal training in CBT, SFT, and MI is preferred. Experience with administering psychological assessments is an asset.
