Capital Superintendent

The Capital Superintendent provides leadership for the project management requirements for the capital projects in the areas of responsibility. They will work with stakeholders and business unit managers through the planning, engineering and procurement phases of a capital project and will work closely with the construction team to ensure safe and timely execution of projects.

What you’ll do?

Perform field measurements and verification of existing equipment and constructions as needed to support design work. Verify specifications with stakeholders. Review drawings. Lead the Project Planning and Engineering group assigned to develop labor, equipment and material estimates and construction sequence to facilitate development of project schedules and budgets. Provide input based on experience to management to ensure front end planning is sound and that realistic expectations for construction timelines are being set. Collaborate on planning of projects and coordinate efforts and resources with relevant departments. Lead the Project Management and Purchasing team assigned to support the tender process; lead bid meetings and bid clarifications. Manage capital budget in conjunction with site leadership teams.  Collaborate on creating future year forecasts and execute front end engineering and scoping to create an accurate forecast. Coach and develop team members to become effective project engineers and coordinators.

What you'll need:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with significant experience will be considered. *Additional Education and Work Experience accepted: Journeyman trade certification or Technical College diploma with at least 10+ years of combined construction, operations, and project management experience and at least 5+ years in a supervisory capacity. 8 years of engineering, project management, or construction management experience required. Proficiency with standard office related software (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project along with other standard office related software are required. Maximo. Requires strong leadership, communication (written and verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and on a team
