Today is the day to boost your career Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our Building Science & Sustainability team in either our Calgary or Edmonton Office.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Project Technologist will be involved in the fast-paced world of Baseline Property Condition Assessments conducting site visits and inspections along with deficiency reporting and costing analysis.
The successful candidate will demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of building systems including general knowledge of structure, building enclosures, mechanical and electrical systems, roofing systems, interior elements, site features, etc.
A Day in the life of a Project Technologist at Pinchin:
Review and complete non-invasive assessments of existing buildings and structures (roof assemblies, exterior cladding assemblies, balcony assemblies, fenestrations and parking garage structures) to determine design and remedial work optionsPrepare written reports of findings, summarizing, collating and interpreting the results of field data and creating costing spreadsheetsCarry out all necessary quantity takeoffs and measurements over the course of a project to be incorporated into reportingConduct Baseline Property Condition Assessments in accordance with the ASTM standards and best construction practices at various client sitesCapital planning as it relates to Baseline Property Condition AssessmentsMaintain QA/QC protocols Maintain health and safety protocols as well as quality control within the groupPerform any other job-related duties that may be assignedAdditional you may be asked to assist with:
Conducting invasive building reviews and testing (ex. Roof cut tests, water / air leakage testing, etc.)Provide support in the development of designs and specifications for restoration projectsCarry out construction reviews to ensure quality standards and design requirements are achieved for restoration projectsWhat you bring to the Pinchin team:
College Diploma in Building Science, Architectural Technology / Science, Construction Technology or Civil Engineering Technology. Bachelor of Science or Applied Science is an assetExperience with building construction or maintenance is an assetKnowledge of building mechanical/electrical systems and building envelope assemblies is an assetExperience with Building Condition Assessments in accordance with the “ASTM Designation: E 2018 – 15 Standard Guide for Property Condition Assessments: Baseline Property Condition Assessment Process" will be considered an assetAbility to read drawings and reportsExperience writing technical reports is an assetProficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)Willing to work at heightsAbility to safely transport and carry 20-foot extension or folding ladder, hand tools and PPE is requiredValid driver’s license, insurance & personal vehicle required (work related travel expenses will be compensated)Availability to travelWhat’s in it for you:
