Position Overview:

Provides developmentally appropriate programs and instruction to preschoolers. Looking for an instructor to lead weekday morning preschool programs.

Responsibilities:

Prepares, implements and instructs appropriate activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth for preschoolers. Modifies programs to accommodate children with special needs. Assembles supplies and equipment as required. Ensures the safety and enjoyment of participants through communication, monitoring and enforcement of program and facility rules, and addresses unsafe and unacceptable behavior. Completes record and reports including class attendance and accident/incident reports. Distributes applicable forms and program information. Ensures safe use, condition and storage of any equipment. Reviews emergency procedures with caregivers and participants; follows established procedures during emergencies. Responds to caregiver’s and participant’s immediate concerns and or needs and provides customer service. Acts as a liaison between the facility and participants. Assists participants with personal care (. toileting, changing) as required. Provides first aid as required. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Possess a minimum of some high school education. Education in child development or teaching would be considered an asset. Minimum of one month of related experience. Have the ability to support and project values compatible with the organization. Be able to work daytime hours. Have demonstrated experience providing instruction to preschoolers within a program setting. Have demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral), customer service, and behaviour management skills. Valid CPR Level “C” and Standard First Aid Certificate, or willing to obtain prior to employment. Provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Checkat your own expense as a condition of employment. Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
