Department:  Actuarial

Location: Toronto, ON or Montreal, QC

Function: Actuarial Pricing

Arch Reinsurance Canada is seeking a team-player who is curious, technically strong, interested in making a broader contribution to the business with the potential to grow into a larger role. The candidate will be a member of the Canadian treaty team and assist in pricing and underwriting a book of Canadian P&C reinsurance treaties.

Responsibilities:

Major responsibilities will include:

Analyze and price reinsurance treaties (quota share, excess of loss, aggregate)

Work closely with Finance on quarterly results, analysis, and reporting

Perform and present trend studies, rate monitoring and ad hoc requests from senior management

Ensure good collaboration with key stakeholders (Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial and Head Office)

Some travel and the ability to work overtime during busy season will be expected for this position

Skills and Qualification:

FCAS (completed or in progress)

At least 5 years of P&C actuarial work experience

IFRS 17 knowledge (is an asset but not mandatory)

Proficient in MS Excel. Programming skills a plus

Ability to organize and prioritize a demanding workload

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
