Required Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing, one year dermatology experience, active Florida nursing license.

Preferred Education and Experience: Preferred experience in phototherapy and/or dermatology.

Essential Functions
Administer ultraviolet B (UVB), systemic psoralen plus ultraviolet A (PUVA), topical psoralen plus ultraviolet A, MED testing, photopatch testing, and cutaneous patch testing to patients with chronic skin disorders.

Coordinates patient therapy in conjunction with the physician’s examination and treatment plan. Responsible for ongoing assessment and documentation of patient’s progress at each visit. Patient’s treatment schedule is determined by phototherapist in accordance with guidelines / protocols.
Interacts directly with patients and staff during the course of treatment.

Operates and maintains phototherapy treatments and equipment, including proper servicing and calibration when appropriate.

Keeps accurate records of phototherapy and equipment status and maintain adequate stock of necessary supplies required for treatments.

Provides clinical assistance for patient care and surgical procedures as necessary within the department. Provide phototherapy education and training courses.

Demonstrates skill in organizing work.

Refers patients to appropriate providers after consultation with physician, if further evaluation or treatment is needed.

Participates in the quality assurance process.

Assumes responsibility for maintaining current certification in CPR.
