The Role
As a result of continued growth, we are seeking a Safety Trainer in our St. George, NB office. This position will report directly to the Director of Health & Safety. The successful candidate will have a passion for facilities, health, safety and wellbeing, who can share their knowledge and enthusiasm to an audience spanning front line workers to senior executives.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare for, organize and conduct hands-on, participatory health and safety training sessionsLead safety training modules, hands on demonstrations, verification and competency testingAssist in the development and implementation of internal health and safety training coursesTravel to deliver courses, in all four Atlantic Provinces, including overnight and multi-day sessions, meetings, conferences, seminars, or other meetingsWillingness to become certified to deliver additional safety courses as business needs requireQualifications
Certified Trainer for Mobile Powered Equipment, specifically Industrial Lift Trucks, Elevating Work Platforms, TelehandlersKnowledge of Provincial OHS Act and Regulations and Canada Labour CodeExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, including an emphasis on quality and attention to detail reflected in your work3 – 5 years’ experience working in the Health & Safety fieldCertified Trainer for Workplace First Aid an assetCertified Trainer for Fall Protection and Confined Space an assetCertificate in Adult Education (CAE) an assetCooke offers full-time year round employment, competitive rates and a competitive benefits package which includes health and dental as well as a company matched pension.
