Our client is sourcing Tax Consultant for a 3-Month Contract.
About the Opportunity
Corporate & Indirect Tax Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of Canadian income tax and information returns
- Coordinate with external advisors to manage the preparation of U.S. income tax returns
- Ensure compliance with indirect tax obligations across all operating jurisdictions
- Manage quarterly and annual tax provisions, including coordination with external auditors
- Review GST, provincial sales tax, and U.S. sales tax returns
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of all income tax and other tax-related returns
- Lead the resolution of tax audits, including responding to audit queries, reviewing proposed assessments, preparing objections/appeals, addressing disputes, and implementing corrective actions
- Conduct technical research and provide recommendations on complex tax issues and strategic planning, including corporate restructuring
- Perform due diligence for mergers and acquisitions
- Foster relationships across the organization to ensure alignment, collaboration, and engagement in tax matters
- Liaise with external tax advisors and supply documentation for U.S. federal tax returns
- Address tax-related inquiries from business units to support operational needs
About You
- Big 4-8 in Tax Division (directly from firm OR firm + industry)
- 5+ years in Canadian Corp/Direct tax/Indirect Tax (provisions, compliance, planning, etc.)
- Worked in a Publicly traded company (if from industry) OR has publicly traded clients (if from firm)
- Industry tax experience is an asset
- InDepth or MTax is an excellent asset
- Experience with Wolters Kluwer tax software is an asset
- CPA, CA is an asset

- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
