DOF Canada is currently seeking an individual for the position of Steward for our LIV (Light Intervention Vessel) committed to a long-term contract off the East Coast of Canada. Offshore work schedule will be based on a 28-day rotation. We are looking for a motivated and hardworking seafarer who has the passion for a career at sea. Key Responsibilities

•Assist Chief Cook/Night Cook in the preparation of meals while on galley duties

•Cleaning all accommodation spaces as directed by the Chief Steward/Cook while on accommodation duties

•Assist chief Cook in the maintenance of stock levels for all catering and cleaning materials including stock rotation

•Washing and drying of ship linen, towels & personal clothing while on laundry duties

•Assisting with the loading of provisions and stores. Ensure the galley, fridges, freezers, storerooms and mess rooms are maintained in a clean & hygienic condition

Requirements

Key Qualifications:

Education & Certificates:

•STCW MED BS

•Ship Personnel with Designated Security Duties Certificate

•Marine Basic First Aid and CPR

•Passenger Safety Management Training

•A Ship’s Cook Certificate would be an asset

•Valid Canadian Passport

•Valid Seafarers Medical

Experience / Knowledge:

•Relevant offshore experience within the marine sector

•Possess a high commitment to safe working practices and working as a team

•Ability to read, write, understand and speak English

•Self-starter, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
