DescriptionHi there, we’re Article.   Since 2013, we have been reinventing the furniture industry one sofa at a time, it’s not easy — it requires solving challenging, meaningful problems. This is where you come in, as a Senior Photo Editor (16-month Mat Leave Coverage) you will enhance and maintain Article's photo editing look and feel. 
Why We Need You:
This is a mat leave coverage position with a duration of 16 months. We would like for this person to start before November 14th to have some overlap with the departing Particle. 
In this role, you’ll collaborate with production and creative teams to provide edited photos tailored to specific project briefs (Specifically for Product Marketing materials).  
We need someone who can manage incoming projects and prioritize them accordingly Briefs from marketing can sometimes be multiple requests at one time with many team members involved. Experience in knowing how to manage your time while working with others is a key component of this role. 

Additionally, the Senior Photo Editor is responsible for mentoring and developing junior editors, including the review and approval of photo assets for final use.

About the Studio and Production team:
The team consists of 5 Particles including this role. Manager of Studio and Production, Senior Photographer, Video Lead, Studio Stylist and Photo Editor. 

We are a hybrid team - you'll be in the office 3 days per week.
What You’ll Do:
  • You'll lead the photo editing process for product, campaign, and lifestyle imagery, ensuring alignment with Article’s aesthetic and branding.
  • Collaborate with photographers, stylists, and designers to ensure all imagery supports the brand’s vision and meets project specifications.
  • Provide feedback to freelance and in-house editors, ensuring consistency in visual style across all platforms.
  • Manage the workflow of multiple projects, prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines.
  • Maintain and update Article’s image guidelines, ensuring adherence across the team.
  • Review and approve final images for cross-functional teams, including marketing and eCommerce.
  • You will be managing one junior editor in this role - you will be responsible for the following:
    • Weekly 1 on 1’s and performance management.
    • Review, provide feedback, and approve edited images before submission to cross-functional teams.

Who You Are:
  • 5+ years of experience as a photo editor in a commercial photo department.
  • Experience working with an eCommerce brand, including editing campaign imagery.
  • Experience working with furniture or interior design photography.
  • Experience collaborating with teams (Editors, Photographer, Art Director, etc.).
  • Your are comfortable and experienced in offering constructive feedback to junior editors and freelancers, guiding them through revisions.
  • Experience providing mentorship to junior team members.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management systems (DAMs).
    • Uploading, managing, and organizing assets in a Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.
    • Strong organizational skills for file naming, structuring, and ensuring accuracy in file management.

Wealth:
  • The expected salary is $64,000 to $85,000. The actual base pay can increase beyond this range and will be based on various factors, including transferable skills, training and certifications, work experience, business needs, and market demands.
