Description
Bring your IT career and talents to CDW, where you can have a greater impact, be inspired by our mission and excited about your career and future. A Fortune 200 leader, we’re the driven professionals and technology experts companies turn to most to solve their IT challenges.
As CDW Principal Field Solution Architect–Security, you’ll have the power, opportunity, and expertise to dive deeper into the stack than most. Focusing on pre-sales security solution design, it’ll be your job to evaluate and understand the sales environment, including customer expectations, competitive environment as well as the customer's technical environment, and define actions to be performed in the sales cycle timeframe.
What you’ll do:
- In this role you will act as a Principal Architect within the Cyber Security Practice as well as the wider Solutions group. The role has three key areas of responsibility, which broken down by approximate split are:
- 70% - Act as a Principal Architect, using a combination of your own depth of expertise as well as the wider team to own opportunities, engage with customers and win business at enterprise-scale
- 15% - Support the development of the team and the wider department by contributing to team projects as well as helping junior team members achieve their own career aspirations
- 15% - Develop and maintain your own skills and knowledge through research, self-guided learning, lab time and formal training/accreditation
What you need to succeed:
Must-have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 8-10 years in an IT consulting or senior IT operations role or within a technical pre-sales capacity or similar role with experience in designing complex solutions for a range and size of customers, within different verticals
- A great understanding of the Cyber Security Market and key areas such as Endpoint Security (EDR / MDR), Cloud Security, Secure Access (SWG / CASB) IdAM, SIEM, Data Governance, Advisory Services and Managed Security Services
- Strong capabilities with at least two top tier security vendors, such as Palo Alto, Cisco, Crowdstrike, Zscaler, Fortinet, Splunk, Check Point or F5.
- Good knowledge in other security vendors such as Netskope, Mimecast, Proofpoint, Beyondtrust, CyberArk, Sophos, Okta, and Microsoft
- Extensive security architecture knowledge and experience in planning, implementation, testing in addition to creation and rollout of security standards, policies, and procedures.
- Showed proficiency of written and verbal communication skills (including technical writing and presentations) with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively, both internally and externally
- Self-starter, flexible, adaptable, highly organized, and proactive, does not require micro-management
- Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced work environment and to demonstrate thoughtful leadership in assessing problems/opportunities and recommending an approach to solving problems and pursuing opportunities.
Nice-to-have:
- Ability to obtain and maintain relevant industry standard certifications.
- Security Vendor Accreditations will be advantageous.
- Independent and relevant certifications (such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH) are advantageous.
