About the job

The Financial Business Analyst - Senior is responsible for ensuring that business data needs have been captured, documented, prioritized and delivered as useful and creative solutions.

The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for all financial analysis support for the Sales SG&A corporate function, as well as the calculation and administration of Sales Commissions. The analyst will provide analysis related to various financial activities including trending, modeling, forecasting, planning, and reporting for the Financial Planning and Analysis team. The incumbent will analyze data from multiple sources across the organization and use their quantitative and analytical skill set to create actionable intelligence out of the data. The Sr. Financial Analyst will be responsible for presenting and communicating their analyses to the company’s leadership team on a frequent basis.

Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and track P&L analytics (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.)
• Calculate Sales Commissions on a monthly basis, including data extraction, analysis, validation according to specific guidelines
• Provide financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting support for specific SG&A functions
• Assist in the annual planning processes for the corporate areas of the organization
• Possess initiative to represent the corporate finance viewpoint in internal discussions involving overall profitability of the company
• Analyze trend analysis that allows for proactive decision-making
• Analyze and provide insight for KPI’s for specific functions such as Sales, as well as Sales Commissions
• Own moderate processes and/or portions of complex processes
• Participate in special financial and business related studies as needed to support project objectives
• Conduct ongoing assessments of procedures to better understand and identify future needs and challenges
• Lead and direct the work of other analysts as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned or necessary

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience creating and maintaining complex financial models in MS-Excel
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
 

Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong Excel, Microsoft Suite and modeling skills
• Exposure to large databases; and proven ability to deliver analytics
• Some exposure to Oracle, Hyperion Essbase, and Smartview
• Exposure to large operating environment; preferably with diverse geographic locations
• Experience owning and contributing to processes and/or portions of processes
• Knowledgeable of the accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• MBA, CPA, CMA desired
