Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are looking for a Field Biologist like you to join our team As a Field Biologist you will provide leadership to manage all aspects of research farm and cross portfolio / cross crop research program (Herbicide, Fungicide, Insecticide, Seed Treatment). This includes but is not limited to trial planning, annual budgeting, capital planning, crop rotations, farm cooperator relationships, farm staffing and quality of all data collection. As part of the team you will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of technical, regulatory, and marketing professionals to deliver innovative solutions for Canadian growers.

Formula for Success: You Will…

Manage the research farm. Be responsible for executing project planning including protocol planning, data summaries, and presentations for multiple audiences. Provide management in the area of external research cooperators and regulatory submissions by project. This will involve interaction with technical and regulatory teams (country). External interactions may include both public and private research scientists and agronomists.  Participate in project teams as it will be a key element of this role. Have focus in weed science and will primarily work within the Fungicide portfolio managing projects related to herbicide development.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

MSc with emphasis on weed science or equivalent experience in crop science, weed science, agronomy, plant pathology or related discipline. Minimum 5 years relative previous field experience managing field research / product development projects. Candidates with less than 5 years experience will still be considered, as an Associate Biologist.  Knowledge of practical agronomy and crop production in Canada including in-depth knowledge of weeds, plant diseases and insects; as well as an ability to identify pest organisms. Ability to work with field equipment safely and efficiently. Experience with Canadian regulatory environment is beneficial. Ability to share knowledge and expertise with others. Actively participate on teams to solve problems or achieve team goals. Excellent written and oral communication skills together with strong project management abilities. Excellent computer skills proficient in various software programs, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, ARM. The incumbent needs to have strong interpersonal leadership qualifications.
