Role Overview

The successful applicant will work with our E&I team to perform tasks ranging from routine plant maintenance to implementation of improvement projects.

Responsibilities

Preventive and Corrective Maintenance of electrical and automation equipment (MCC, Switchgears, Motors, Generators, VFDs, DCS and PLCs). Diagnose and repair malfunctioning electrical & control systems. Routine maintenance on lighting and power distribution systems. Inspection and Reliability tasks: motor cleanliness & lubrication, thermography, control loop tuning. Routing and installation of power and control cables and cable trays to feed new equipment. VFD, DCS and PLC programming and maintenance. Identify and correct deficiencies with respect to relevant codes and specifications. Participate in business improvement initiatives like reliability improvement and Capital Projects. Routine daily Electrical and Instrument work. Complete shift log of daily activities. Work closely with operations group to support day to day operations. Complete Preventative maintenance checks and WO’s as assigned. Must be self-motivated, results oriented, and be flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team environment. Recommends improvements to procedure, standards and practices as part of our continuous improvement. Shift work and overtime may be required. Working at heights and confined spaces.

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:

Journeyperson status in Industrial Electrical or Instrumentation Technician; 3 to 4 years’ experience in industrial electrical or instrumentation preferred; A minimum of a Grade 12 Graduation or Equivalent Strong troubleshooting skills Knowledge of electrical controls, MCC’s and power distribution equipment Knowledge of VFD’s, PLC and DCS systems Experience in an industrial plant an asset Adequate knowledge of CMS Work order systems, Inventory system
