Support ICFR and DC&P risk assessments. Provide input into the development of the annual risk-based Internal Control Office test plan. Execute testing of system related internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and disclosure controls and procedures (DC&P), to support the interim and annual certifications submitted by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA). Oversee the planning and conduct of the general computer control (GCC) testing performed by an external contractor. Conduct control reviews of ICFR or DC&P business process changes. Provide input to the Manager, Internal Control for regular briefings to senior management, including assistance in preparing annual and quarterly reports to the CEO / CFO and the Audit Committee to support internal control certification and quarterly reporting to the Ethics Committee to support fraud risk monitoring. Identify opportunities to replace manual controls with automated controls. Identify, assess and implement enhanced testing methodologies and monitoring (e.g. artificial intelligence, data analytics). Participate on application acquisition, development, and/or maintenance projects to ensure appropriate control requirements are identified, tested and implemented. Remain current on trends in financial reporting systems, monitor evolving technology capabilities, investigate new concepts, conduct analysis and apply them to testing methodologies, and advise on controls development or enhancements. Establish and maintain relationships with Business Process Owners to ensure ongoing collaboration. Oversee ongoing updates to control documentation, to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the control frameworks and descriptions. Maintain and enhance the Internal Control Office section of the GRC (governance, risk management and compliance) application. Provide training and ongoing education to enhance the awareness and understanding of internal control and promotes Company-wide compliance with accounting policies, procedures and processes. Coordinate activities with the Company’s internal auditors to share knowledge and prevent duplication of efforts and work with the Company’s external auditors to facilitate an efficient audit.Education
The position requires specialized accounting and information systems knowledge and education. A combination of the following two categories of education / certification. 1. Graduated from a recognized university with a specialization in business or accounting, or a speciality relevant to the duties of the position (e.g., Information Systems degree) combined with formal accounting education (e.g. college or university accounting courses) or extensive training and work experience. 2. CPA designation, or two of the following designations - CISA, CRISC, CIA, CFE.Experience
Seasoned financial/technology professional with broad experience in accounting, financial application development, testing and delivery. Planning, designing, and conducting tests to evaluate the effectiveness of ICFR and DC&P. Assessing inherent and residual ICFR and DC&P risks. Using Workday or an equivalent ERP application. Conducting business process reviews of system implementations and business process changes. Developing system requirements, test plans and test scripts. Testing of application controls. Testing of general computer controls. Use of data analytics for controls or substantive testing and/or detection of anomalies requiring review. Developing and updating business process flowcharts that describe current business processes and key controls. Reporting test results, both orally and written.Knowledge

Internal control theories, principles and practices, including risk analysis, control testing methods and techniques, concepts of materiality, reasonable assurance, inherent and residual risk, reliability of evidence, objectives of control and financial statement assertions. Financial management and accounting principles, standards, methods and techniques related to financial reporting, including comparability, disclosure and transparency. Trends, developments and professional standards in financial management and accounting, professional institutes (e.g. Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Professional standards in auditing and testing (e.g. Institute of Internal Audit Professional Standards). Information technology and general computer controls Technologies, including software, hardware, and operating systems. Change and project management principles.Abilities
