Lafarge Construction provides Construction services in the City of Edmonton and surrounding areas. Lafarge Construction is based in Edmonton, AB and is currently seeking a seasonal, full-time Screed Operator

Responsibilities: 

The accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

Fully trained in the operations and capability of the screed on a paver. Work as part of a team to operate Paver. Performing repair/maintenance on the Paver under the direction of plant foreman or lead hand. May require considerable physical activity, must be capable of heavy lifting, bending and twisting Assist with a variety of job operations Ensure the safety of company personnel, the community, and environment Responsible for completing daily equipment checklist Monitoring and ensuring accurate thickness of asphalt. Monitor material production within specifications Ensure consistent feed to maintain a quality product

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be expected to exercise sound judgment, work safely and communicate effectively in a team. This position is physically demanding and requires crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling. As such, clearance on a pre-employment medical is required. The successful candidate will have a proven record of following safe work procedures and be able to complete field risk assessments.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will possess the following:

Valid Class 5 Drivers License Min 3 years of experience operating a screed Knowledge of City of Edmonton Specifications Mechanically Inclined Knowledge of the City of Edmonton and surrounding area Ability to read survey markings.

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be expected to exercise sound judgment, work safely and communicate effectively in a team. This position is physically demanding and requires crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling. As such, clearance on a pre-employment medical is required. The successful candidate will have a proven record of following safe work procedures and be able to complete field risk assessments.
