The City of Lethbridge Regulatory Services Department is accepting applications for one term position of Bylaw Clerk III.
Wage: $31.32 per hour (2022 rate)
Status: Term for approximately 6 – 8 months
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Duties:
Provide relief coverage during peak periods. Assist the public in answering enquiries, a few being of a controversial nature. Provide information to the public on relevant bylaws, provincial acts, and regulations. Maintain department information via Microsoft Office, Tempest Software, and other programs. Issue licenses, annual renewal invoices, and collect on delinquent accounts, Process invoices and cheque requisitions relating to select accounts/vendors. Manage accounts payable tasks and timekeeping for department. Assist in preparing statistical data reports and spreadsheets. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager.Qualifications:
·A degree or diploma in finance, accounting, business, or related field will be considered an asset.
·Exceptional communication skills both verbally and in writing.
·Demonstrate effective conflict resolution skills when dealing with the public; the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
·Must be resourceful, flexible, adaptable, and possess a high degree of common sense and initiative.
·Considerable experience and intermediate knowledge using Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Visio).
·Knowledge and experience with accounts payable processes and using JD Edwards will be considered an asset.
