At NAVBLUE our software development teams are formed around a matrixed organization consisting of Tribes and Chapters. Team members belong to a Chapter, in which skills, competencies, and standards are owned, solidified, and grown. They are also members of a Squad (scrum team) where they utilize those skills and competencies to support the Tribe in the production and delivery of quality software.

You’ll be part of a team building and maintaining crew optimization services for our commercial aviation customers. As part of our crew development team, you’ll continue to enhance crew bidding functionality, the software at the heart of an airline’s daily operations. 

You have a proven track record as a senior developer advocating for clean software development practices, such as:

Clean Coding practices and principles (SOLID, CUPID, etc) Refactoring legacy code Code coverage and quality gates Code review Unit testing Component-level automated testing and test mocks

Main responsibilities:

Focus on developing code in C++ in a Linux environment, including Perl, CGI and MySql. Providing leadership with your team building high-quality services. Develop, unit test and profile software libraries and service components. Working within a small team, delivering new features and fixing defects. Enhance the overall quality and maintainability of the code across our development teams.

Experience and education:

At least five years of professional experience in software development. You have a College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree within the software engineering area of study or equivalent professional experience. Have designed, developed, launched and maintained highly available systems with complex and tight deadlines Excellent communication in English
