YOU’RE A FAIR AND ANALYTICAL decision-making DYNAMO

Posted: 2024-05-06

Closing: Until filled

Location: Edmonton

You look at life from all angles. While things might seem black and white at first glance, you understand the importance of checking out the grey areas. You don’t shy away from tough decisions, and everyone wants you on their team because they know you always play fair — and that’s exactly the type of person we’re looking for.

What moves you

To you, integrity is everything and people find you trustworthy. When faced with a decision, you keep a clear mind and explore all sides of the issue. You base decisions on sound analysis, knowledge, experience and judgment. You’re a multitasking extraordinaire who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Prioritizing, planning and organizing comes naturally to you. You know that the key to building trust and strong relationships is being a great listener. Whether by phone, email or in person, your communication skills are top-notch.

What you’ll do

Report to the Claims Supervisor. Settle litigated injury/liability claims in a fair and timely manner. Investigate, evaluate and negotiate bodily injury claims with plaintiff counsel or through defense counsel to equitably settle claims. Adhere to company Bodily Injury Guidelines. Assess information and case law to form arguments to defend liability position. Foster strong working relationships within the Claims Department, other business units and industry partners. Travel, as required.

What you’ve done

You have a high school diploma or equivalent (bonus points for related post-secondary education). You have or are working towards your CIP/FCIP designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada. You’re no newbie — you have at least 2 years of bodily injury claims adjusting experience and 5 years or more of adjusting experience. You have a strong knowledge of litigation file handling procedures, case law, medical terminology and common injuries.

What you’ll get

A competitive salary with customizable benefits and an outstanding Retirement Savings Program. Great discounts on AMA services including memberships, insurance, travel and more. A work environment that prioritizes learning opportunities and career development, with dedicated learning time. Paid vacation and other paid time off including a Volunteer Day and a flexible “Me Day”. We’re Albertans protecting Albertans, and by joining our locally-based insurance company, you’ll be helping your neighbours protect what matters most.
