Job Summary

As a Dispenser you will have the opportunity to help our customers with their eyesight in the comfort of their own environments or in care settings. You will engage our customers, understand their needs and wants and translate the recommendations into the eyewear and accessorises we can offer that are best for them. You’ll encounter a range of conditions, making the role clinically engaging and a refreshing change from the familiar test room environment. You will deliver our life-changing service, supporting our customers and providing vital eye care to people who may struggle to get to the high street unaided.

You will work alongside our optometrists ensuring effective dispensing services are provided to our customers and challenging each other to be your best. Together with the optometrist, ensure that each schedule is completed accurately and effectively. Your routes and appointments are booked by our expert Scheduling team and with full support from our in-house Professional Services department. Therefore, ensuring you can focus on dispensing eyewear and accessories to provide our customers with the best possible care and attention.

Principle Accountabilities

Provide the very best in dispensing prescription eyewear and accessorises, identifying and anticipating customer needs and exceeding expectations. Continually striving to achieve and exceed sales Key Performance Indictors (KPI’s) by aligning your sales strategies with customer needs and wishes. Ensure excellent customer satisfaction and a quality service throughout the sales process. Use your professional skills and knowledge to translate prescription, clinical language and overall appraisal into a clear advice and recommendations for your customer to drive sales. Confirm understanding of your recommendations and outcomes to all appropriate parties including your customer, their loved ones or their carers. Establish and maintain strong relationships with the Optometrists you are working alongside and with central support colleagues throughout the company. Participate in business networking and promotional events and other business engagement activities as appropriate. Be a leader in the company for your dispensing skills. Be seen as a role model and inspire colleagues to achieve through offering support, coaching and training to colleagues alongside the Regional Support Manager, where needed.

About you

Along with a proven track record in a sales role working to and achieving targets, you will have an infectious personality and be able to portray this in a professional manner. You be able to create an effective communication style that is sensitive to each customers unique and sometimes complex needs.

You will have:

Demonstratable dynamic dispensing style. In-depth knowledge and a passion for optometry and dispensing optics Confidence working in a fast paced environment where you can balance care and results. The ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure. Strong prioritisation and multi-tasking skills. The ability to establish rapport quickly and effectively. A highly motivated, healthy competitiveness, results driven approach to each day. Excellent attention to detail, and record and stock keeping. Awareness of regulations and working knowledge of latest industry updates Ability to use digital systems A valid UK driving licence with at least 2 years experience due to insurance requirements. Willingness to travel. Dispensing Optician qualification is desirable
