Job Summary:

As an Apprentice Utility Arborist (AUA), you will work alongside experienced Certified Utility Arborists (CUAs) to learn and develop the skills necessary for safely maintaining vegetation around utility networks. This role offers valuable mentorship opportunities, ensuring you gain the knowledge and expertise needed to thrive in this dynamic field.

Job Responsibilities:

Commitment to working safely and supporting a positive team environment.

Perform physically demanding manual labor in various weather conditions.

Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris, or feed brush into a woodchipper.

Assist in site set-up and take-down, including equipment handling and maintaining site cleanliness.

Perform additional duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:

Basic knowledge of trees, including identification and growth habits.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record; air brakes endorsement is a plus.

Ability to work as part of a team in physically demanding environments.

Motivated to learn independently and from team members, with strong time management skills.

Proficiency in operating and maintaining tools and equipment.

Comfortable working in noisy environments with proper PPE.

Willingness to work long hours, overtime, and participate in on-call rotations during emergencies.

Valid First-Aid and CPR certificates.
