We’re looking for Maintenance Supervisor to join our Heffley Creek division , located in Kamloops, British Columbia . With approximately employees, Heffley Creek Division produces plywood and veneer products, safely and sustainably while producing approximately million square feet of plywood and million square feet of veneer per year , for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

Three to five years of maintenance supervisory experience . Red Seal Certification required ; Millwright ticket preferred. Post Secondary in Mechanical Engineering, forestry or business would be considered strong assets. Sawmill and/or manufacturing experience is preferred. Effective communication, organizational and time management skills . Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends as we are a /7 operation. As we are not located in an area that is transit accessible, applicants must have reliable means of transportation to and from work.

In this role you will :

Report to the Maintenance Superintendent. Be accountable for providing leadership to maintenance crews of to employees. Ensure your team delivers quality maintenance activities in a safe and proactive manner. Be accountable for scheduling, organizing and safely achieving targeted production levels of quality veneer or plywood. Be required to work shift work which may include weekends. Regularly inspect and ensure equipment is maintained to reduce downtime and improve efficiency. Identify areas for improvement and implement changes as necessary. Ensure that maintenance targets and schedules are met as forecasted. Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures. Establish, coordinate, and direct all maintenance activities for hourly and contract workers. This includes scheduling work, overseeing tasks, and ensuring quality control. Take an active role in the hiring process of the maintenance team. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members. Be prepared to work in a variety of temperatures, as the role involves mostly indoor work but may also require exposure to external temperatures.
