As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
Classification: Laboratory Assistant I Union: HSAA FAC PROF/TECH Unit and Program: Belmont PSC Primary Location: Belmont Town Centre Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 08-MAY-2024 Temporary Employee Class: Temporary Full Time Date Available: 27-MAY-2024 Temporary End Date: 09-SEP-2024 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 2 Shifts per cycle: 10 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $23.72 Maximum Salary: $29.56 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of internal/external Laboratory Assistant program. Participates in continuing education and training to maintain current knowledge. Demonstrates excellent organizational, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on client service and public relations. Maintains professionalism at all times. Performs repetitive duties efficiently and accurately.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a PSC or Community Hospital Laboratory within the last 2 years is preferred.
