Reporting to the Area Manager, the Brokerage Coordinator provides quality customer service and is an excellent negotiator. He/she will be responsible for keeping abreast of market rates for logistics movements. He/she will also be responsible for closely monitoring carrier performance.

Your responsibilities will be as follows:

Negotiate rates to achieve adequate profits;
Optimize shipments through efficient business planning to maximize profits;
Send confirmations correctly to carriers, with all essential information
(e.g. PO #'s)
Ensure deadlines are met to cover shipments on time or offer optimal options;
Maintain excellent carrier-customer relations;
Respond to customer concerns and questions in a professional manner;
Continuously develop the carrier network;
Create and update carrier profiles (e.g. insurance, references, etc.);
Obtain accurate carrier updates in a timely manner to provide appropriate and detailed updates to customers and CSR;
Act as a point of contact for any questions on market rates for various internal services.

In order to join Groupe Robert's team, you must have:

Minimum 3 years' relevant experience
Intermodal experience (rail)
College diploma in logistics and transportation (asset)
Knowledge of market rates
Strong negotiation skills
Geographical knowledge (US/CAN)
Bilingual (French and English, oral and written)
Flexible working hours and willingness to take after-hours calls
Knowledge of various computer systems and programs
e.g. Excel, Load Link, etc.)
