Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Designer will design custom solutions to match customer specifications from selection, design and integration of medium voltage switchgear and reclosers.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities:
Review and understand design requirements of customized medium voltage switchgears. Participate in design review when necessary. Plan and complete defined design work per schedule. Choose correct modular subassemblies and configurations of the product. Design and modify the layout and package of the subassemblies to meet the design requirement. Detail and draft new parts required for the new design. Prepare mechanical drawings with dimensions, tolerance and bill of material. Update schedule and database. Prepare production documentation. Verify and validate other designers work. Support production, Supply Chain, Sales and QA. Process engineering change notices.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. 3+ years experience in mechanical engineering design. Good understanding of automatic mechanical equipment. Working experience with 3D solid modeling and drawings (CREO). Good team player and quick learner. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate the activities with diverse tasks and demanding schedules. Excellent command of the English Language verbal and written.Physical Demands / Working Conditions: General Office Environment, PC use
