About the Role
The Undergraduate Advisor and Recruiter coordinates all undergraduate advising activities for the Faculty of Health Sciences. Advises potential and registered undergraduate students of the academic requirements for Faculty of Health Sciences degree programs and screens applications for undergraduate study; administers the undergraduate registration process, programs of study and graduation activities; interviews students on academic probation and coordinates the articulation of post-secondary transfer credit requests; provides evaluation and approval of Letters of Permission (LOP), course overloads, and duplication; recruits students to the Faculty in individual and group interviews, on and off campus, and at special events (e.g. SFU Open House, Recruitment Events, Parent Orientation, High School Counselor's Day).
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in and three years of related experience in post-secondary program advising and registration services OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Excellent organizational, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and conflict management skills. Excellent interpersonal, and communication (oral and written) skills. Skilled in the use of student information systems, web content management systems and software applications (i.e., database, spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing). Ability to exercise mature judgment, initiative, diplomacy and tact. Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.What We Offer
