Edgeband Operator

What is this role responsible for?

Set up Edgebander according to job specifications, including adjusting feed speed, cutter heads, and pressure settings. Perform proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories to be used on projects. Prepare raw materials for edgebanding, ensuring they meet quality standards and dimensions specified for the job. Monitor the edgebanding process to ensure finished products meet quality standards, including inspecting for defects, proper edge alignment, and adherence of edgebanding material. Perform routine maintenance tasks on the Edgebander, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts as needed to ensure optimal performance. Identify and troubleshoot issues with the Edgebander during operation, such as machine jams, feed inconsistencies, or blade dullness, and make necessary adjustments or repairs. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures. Work efficiently to meet production goals and deadlines, optimizing machine settings and minimizing downtime for changeovers or maintenance. Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

What is required for this role?

2+ years experience working on an Edgebander or similar machine. 2+ years experience in manufacturing. Must be organized and able to prioritize work activities based upon primary duties. Is inquisitive by nature and driven by the "pursuit of excellence" to consistently ensure constant growth and achievement. Demonstrates good initiative working safely, reporting and participating in Environmental Health and Safety.
