Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Media Strategy, the incumbent provides marketing expertise across all digital marketing and digital multimedia platforms with a strong focus on of digital marketing.

The incumbent will provide marketing recommendations and strategic guidance, including the development, implementation and analysis of campaigns. This position is a contributor to the development of Mohawk College’s online communities by executing cutting-edge digital multimedia content and effective digital advertising. The incumbent will develop and implement tactics with current, relevant, and engaging digital marketing content and knowledge. The incumbent will effectively monitor digital channels including (but not limited to): Google Ads, social media marketing and monitor search engine optimization, analytics, mobile marketing.

What you’ll be doing:

Marketing – Strategy

Assist in the development of campaigns that align with the college’s strategy to reach Direct, Non-Direct, Continuing Education, Graduate Studies, and other identified audiences. Request and analyze internal research and apply it to the strategic development of campaigns. Collaborate on the creation and implementation of a best practices model for developing internal client digital multimedia marketing strategies, such as marketing briefs, programmatic media and advertising journeys. Formulate and implement organic (Search Engine Optimization [SEO]) in partnership with the web team and paid digital marketing strategies (Search Engine Marketing [SEM], PPC, Display,) for internal clients and Mohawk College marketing campaigns. In partnership with the Web team, optimize copy and landing pages for marketing campaigns and SEO. Collaborate with other marketing specialists and other areas within the marketing areas in the team to execute campaigns.

Marketing – Advertising

Develop campaigns with distinct calls-to-action that are integrated with website content and other digital multimedia content, making recommendations to landing pages/digital delivery channels where required. Develop digital media plans (content marketing, email marketing, social media advertising, pay-per-click, programmatic media and advertising), coordinate media contracts and work with the creative Services Team to develop advertising creative to promote Mohawk College programs. Identify, evaluate, and recommend emerging digital media technologies and methodologies. Working with respective parties within the college and client groups to identify and market digital avenues into Mohawk College. Assist with digital multimedia marketing efforts such as creation, development and implementation of online/digital advertising, marketing materials, and other relevant digital assets ( display advertising, copywriting for digital efforts, digital multimedia content. landing pages) Collaborate with the creative and marketing team and external partners to ensure consistency across digital marketing messages & call-to-actions. Identify opportunities for cross-promotion of marketing messages. Analyze campaign data and ROI and align with internal reports and make recommendations to optimize and improve campaigns. Assist with the development of marketing performance analysis and reporting on a regular basis. Liaise and manage external consultants as required. Effectively track and manage the digital marketing budget (social media advertising, online advertising spending (Display + SEM), interactive content creation tools, SEO efforts, mobile marketing, programmatic targeting, etc.)

Social Media – Community Development

Develop content related to all respective markets for promotion on Mohawk College’s social media outlets. Collaborate with other marketing specialists and other areas within the marketing areas in the team and contribute to all Mohawk College corporate social media initiatives including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter X, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, LinkedIn, Reddit, and Pinterest. Identify social media and digital marketing strategies based upon ever-changing best practices and in accordance with management guidelines and direction. Provide cutting edge and effective digital/online marketing and/or social media recommendations to clients and Mohawk College campaigns. Liaise with internal clients on the development, management and reporting of paid online, digital, and social media campaigns.

Content Development – Creating Thinking

Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of a marketing media plan and content calendar. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop digital content to assist college initiatives, for example, webinars, social media live. Monitor and identify relevant digital content for Mohawk College audience (internal and external). Support the manager in working with the web development team to ensure SEO best practices are implemented.

Content Development – Copywriting

Develop and edit digital marketing copy related to recruitment collateral, social media efforts, SEO efforts and online (SEM/Display) advertising. Ensure marketing messages align across all advertising platforms. Collaborate with various internal departments to provide content where required and maintain cohesiveness in digital advertising copy.

Analytics and Reporting

Assist with the management and development of tracking, reporting, analysis and optimization of all media plans/buys across all channels with digital efforts. Liaise with internal clients to define key success metrics. Track, report, and analyze website analytics and PPC initiatives and campaigns. Research and analyze competitor advertising links for SEO efforts.

Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to

Assist with the identification of new tools and applications to assist department in effective delivery of marketing campaigns. Apply Mohawk Brand guidelines and policies to further the Mohawk brand in and around the online community. Promote and attend various Mohawk events including but not limited to Open houses, special events etc. and assists with implementation where necessary. Act as a Mohawk College brand ambassador.

What you’ll bring to the role:

A minimum of a three-year diploma/degree or certificate in marketing, public relations, advertising, social media, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in advertising strategy, email marketing, analytics, and measurement. High degree of technical expertise in the use of email marketing tools and applications (for example, Salesforce Marketing, Pardot, Marketo) Expertise in marketing copywriting and content development. Proven ability/experience to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Financial acumen. Experience in researching and recommending new technologies with forecasted and planned budget resources. Previous experience with Google Analytics considered an asset. Previous experience with Customer Relations Marketing tools (CRM) considered an asset. Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. The ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students, employees, and communities.
