Randstad is excited to partner with an Engineering Consulting Firm in Hamilton, ON in their search for a Revit Specialist / Technician. Our client specializes in Structural Engineering and pride themsleves on quality work. The Revit Technician will manage Design/CAD projects and produce a wide range of design drawings and construction details to meet functional requirements and project design criteria.

Responsibilities
•Visit job sites and attend client meetings to take measurements and document existing building conditions
•Oversee Design/CAD projects and produce a variety of design drawings and construction details
•Develop construction contract documents for projects of varying scope, from schematic design to construction administration, with minimal supervision
•Create working drawings for all stages of project delivery, including client approval, coordination with consultants/engineers, tender submission, permit approval, construction, and post-construction (as-built).
•Collaborate with multi-disciplinary consultants and team members during all project phases.
•Analyze applicable building codes, by-laws, and other technical documents and reports relevant to the project.
•Perform contract administration duties, including municipal approval, shop drawing review, responding to RFIs, site visits, field observations, and reporting.
•Work with the Project Manager/Project Engineer to communicate with clients and consultants clearly and professionally
•Meticulously compile required documentation and permits.
•Coordinate with Architects, Designers, and Engineers
•Maintain project and AutoCAD drawing files (both hard and soft copies) to ensure information is current and appropriately filed.
•Additional duties may include zoning review, submission, and pick-up of building permit applications.

Qualifications
•Diploma in Architectural Technology, Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, CADD (Computer-Aided Drafting & Design), or other related technical field
•Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural design assignments
•Proficient in using AutoCAD, preferably 2020 or later
•Proficient in using REVIT -preferably 2020 or later
•Proven ability to read and interpret structural and architectural construction drawings and CAD drawings.
•Strong understanding of building science, technology and assembly, construction methodology, material applications, and manufacturer requirements.
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
•Access to vehicle and license

Asset:

•Capable of assembling construction documents and performing contract administration duties an asset
•In-depth knowledge of Ontario Building Codes (especially Part 3) and Fire Code an asset
•Knowledge of ULC and CSA Standards is an asset
