Welder (Apprentice or Journeyperson)

Essential Job Responsibilities:
Welding (MIG, TIG, Flux Arc, ; Preparation for assigned welding tasks, including grinding; Hard surfacing and Silver soldering; Cutting components with a torch, plasma or saw as necessary; Use and maintain tools, material handling equipment and welding equipment; Fitting and measuring materials; Daily overhead crane usage after course completion; Other duties as assigned.Qualification Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required; Apprenticeship status or Journeyperson certification is required; 3 – 5 year’s experience preferred; Overhead Crane Course is an asset, but will train in house if necessary; Basic tools required; Training provided on the job for Apprentice Welders.Technical Requirements:
Knowledge of welding machines & associated equipment.Competencies Required:
Integrity and Trust; Customer Focus; Ethics and Values; Action Oriented; Functional/Technical Skills.HSE Requirements :
Shop environment orientation (exits, fire extinguishers, first aid & eyewash stations, spill kits, propane storage) and yard environment (building locations, processes); Squatting, bending, reaching, and walking (further details to be reviewed on JHA); PPE training for possible noise exposure, mists/vapors, gloves, safety glasses and steel toed boots; NOV in-house forklift training if required; WHMIS training; NOV in-house Overhead/Jib crane training; Hand & Power tool safety training.Preferred method of application and to view all opportunities, visit:
