The successful person will manage an inside sales estimation team that is responsible for bidding all plan and spec HVAC requests for quotations (RFQ). Your duties will include but not be limited to the supervision of the inside sale estimators and clerks. Managing the RFQs from external customers, outside sales teams and other Master Group divisions that require assistance with bid and spec quotations. You will be expected to provide training & guidance to estimators, manage bid closing dates and bid request statuses as well as validating of RFQs prior to closing.

What you will accomplish with us:

• Monitoring of the daily bids task list
• Management of project entries into the ERP System
• RFQ validation and subsequent distribution to estimators for quotation
• Workload balancing amongst the estimation team
• RFQ Calendar management and be cognizant of any time constraints of the RFQ (Bid Closing dates, Request for Information cut off dates, walk through dates)
• Scheduling of bid closures (Margin Discussion Meetings, BOM issuance, closing strategy meetings)
• Providing technical assistance on quotes
• Plan & schedule training for estimators
• Organize the daily bid analysis review meetings
• Evaluate the technical content of plans and specifications of all RFQs and prepare a bid grid analysis when necessary
• Prepare full quotations if required

What You Bring to Our Team:

• A minimum of 5 years experience in HVAC Bid & Spec Sales
• Experience in personnel management
• Relevant College (Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician diploma) or University Degree (B.Mech Eng.) or equivalent experience in a similar position
• Proven sales and negotiation skills
• An understanding of competitive product offerings and how to approach the market in a strategic way in order to create a competitive advantage when bidding on projects
• Ability to multitask with attention to detail
• Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Access, Notes, Internet)
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask
• Professional phone manners and customer service skills
• Strong time management and decision-making skills
• Ability to respond to the needs of the organization in a timely and efficient manner
• Reliable, trustworthy and a positive work attitude
• Work autonomously as well with a team to meet a common outcome.
• Strong sense of urgency & the ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment;
