The Test Centre Assistant/Invigilator is responsible for assisting Test Centre operations with the invigilation, scheduling, and administration of assessment services, including admissions and accommodated testing, external post-secondary exams, and industry professional certification and licensure testing. The Test Centre Assistant/Invigilator works closely with, and under the direct supervision of the Test Centre Administrator.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Providing test invigilation for current and prospective MITT students, and external clientele. Obtaining invigilator certification requirements of several testing partners and exam sponsors. Assisting with test taker reception and service, which includes communicating about scheduling processes, test requirements, and MITT Test Centre policies and procedures. Coordinating daily/weekly testing exam invigilation schedules and databases. Ensuring that all testing requirements, conditions, and standards are met during testing. This includes but is not limited to, complying with check-in/out procedures, monitoring test takers, adhering to time limits and space requirements, and the use of supplementary exam materials/equipment. Preparing workstations for testing and launching computer-based exams or providing paper-based testing materials. Monitoring test taker behavior using audio/video surveillance, screen management software, and regular test room walk through cycles. Troubleshooting technical issues and opening helpdesk tickets as appropriate. Maintaining organization and cleanliness of Test Centre resources, exam workstations, registration area, and test room. Collaborating with MITT Admissions for program intake and preadmissions testing requirements. Maintaining knowledge and competency using MITT administrative systems with an emphasis on FIPPA/PHIA, including scheduling software (Outlook and Calendly), video streaming and conferencing (Teams, Zoom), MS Office suite, booking and space management software (MIDAS), and student records (CAMS). May be required to assist other departments and invigilate tests at other MITT campus locations. Participates in cross-training and provides back-up for Test Centre Administrator. May be required to occasionally work outside of regularly assigned hours. Maintains knowledge and proficiency of MITT administrative systems and processes with an emphasis on FIPPA/PHIA.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

A combination of related education and experience may be considered.

Post-secondary degree, diploma, certificate or qualification in administrative studies. 1+ years’ experience in a post-secondary administrative, academic or student support department. Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), video streaming and conferencing software’s (TEAMS, Zoom) and adept at learning and employing a variety of testing software applications. Experience working with any of the following student categories: domestic/international post-secondary, Indigenous students, first-generation, adult/mature, high school.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

1+ years’ experience in test invigilation at a recognized post-secondary institution or formal testing centre. Experience with exam lockdown browser systems, scheduling software and online testing platforms.
