We are seeking a CFO based in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. This role operates within a Crown Corporation and entails a range of responsibilities from managing accounting functions to overseeing capital management. The CFO will be a key player in the financial decision-making process that affects the future of the company, making it a critical role and senior leadership position within the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the execution of all accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Manage the company's budget processes, including preparation, review, and monitoring.
• Lead auditing activities to ensure the company's financial performance is transparent and accurately reported.
• Utilize financial reporting tools to provide relevant and reliable financial information to stakeholders.
• Conduct cash flow analysis to ensure the company's financial stability and liquidity.
• Oversee the usage of various business systems, including CRM and accounting software systems, to ensure operational efficiency.
• Ensure the company's financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation.
• Develop and implement strategies for capital management to optimize the financial resources of the company.
• Use knowledge of Financial Services to enhance financial operations and decision making.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations based on PSAS understanding to guide strategic planning.
• Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a CFO or similar high-level executive role.
• Demonstrated proficiency in 3M relevant Accounting Software Systems.
• Proficiency in Business Systems and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
• Have a strong understanding and experience with Accounting Functions.
• Proven experience with Auditing and Budget Processes.
• Solid understanding of Capital Management.
• Experience in Cash Flow Analysis and Financial Reporting.
• Knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) is a must.
• Able to drive financial strategy and planning.
• Ability to manage risks and regulatory compliance.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to make executive decisions.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required, an MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
• Professional certification as a CPA is required with an MBA beneficial.
