We are seeking a senior level IT/OT Engineer for a well established engineering client of ours in the Vancouver area. The Engineer will be responsible for working with clients and designing industrial networks and automation solutions for
brownfield modernization and greenfield installation projects. They will be responsible for the delivery of industrial networked solutions for all integration projects.

Responsibilities
-Working with the integration team in designing, developing, and commissioning plant-wide industrial IT and control systems for projects globally, ranging from greenfield installations to plant modernizations.
-Researches, designs, develops and commissions robust IT systems.
-Defines the IT system’s technical specifications, cyber security requirements, networking and integration plans, virtualized environments, and network device/server configurations.
-Diagnose software and hardware issues, as well as troubleshoot network problems relating to the system.
-Provides design input to cross functional teams developing deliverables such as: network panel drawings and plant-wide system architecture drawings.
-Ability
-Preparing the technical portion of the detailed IT scope of work, tendering packages, inspection and test plans, construction scopes of work, and commissioning plans.
-Coordinating and communicating with all project stakeholders including contractors and equipment vendors to resolve
-Plans and implements system security, including the specification and configuration of firewalls, and access permissions. Performs analysis of network needs and contributes to the design of network system architecture, integration, and installation.
-Prepare and maintain detailed documentation and diagrams of infrastructure.
-Proactively identifies risks, provides recommendations, and implements solutions to maintain the integrity of infrastructure and operations.
-Guiding clients through Factory Acceptance Testing and working with personnel during Site Acceptance Testing.
-Responsible for providing construction supervision and participating in commissioning and start- up activities during control system implementation.
-Follows standardized operating procedures and create new procedures when required.
-Participates in weekly meetings to ensure the success of the Technical User Groups and investigates new technologies to advance existing technology and infrastructure.
-Contributing to positive client experience by producing well-presented project material on time.
-Create and deliver technical presentations to project stakeholders or prospect clients with an ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical people.
-Develops, executes, and maintains a long-term strategy on the selection, implementation and usage of technologies in projects and internally
-Some project dependent travel required (5-25%)

Qualifications
-The successful candidate has completed a diploma or undergraduate degree in electrical engineering or related discipline and/or has obtained relevant industry certifications or designations. The candidate must be in good standing with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) and shall be/able to be registered as an engineer in training (EIT).
-Any industrial programming certificates are considered an asset.
-An understanding of communications network architecture’s such as TCP/IP, modbus, CIP safety, and other common industrial network protocols
-Experience with programming, preferably in an industrial setting related to PLC’s and/or HMIs
-Experience in complete plant wide network design, implementation, and commissioning including
-Experience with virtualization with working knowledge of VMWare and Azure.
-Experience setting up automation system historians, data management schemes and communications.
-Experience as a network administrator or system administration experience, setting up access and permissions.
