Position Overview and Responsibilities:

This new role is inspired by a desire to create an agile and inclusive learning culture - one that enables employees to demonstrate their ability to quickly adapt to new environments, new protocols and shifting market demands. You will help transform the affiliate learning culture to one that integrates learning into day-to-day work and inspires employees to adopt an employee- driven learning mindset to fuel employee growth, continuous learning, and desire to build their career with Lilly. Our goal is to embed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in everything that we do, therefore the Manager - Employee Development and DEI Projects will help ensure that all employee development activities allow employees to bring their full authentic selves to work.

Reporting into the associate VP Human Resources and a member of the HR team, you will collaborate closely with cross functional teams to identify skills gaps, prioritized capabilities and desired performance outcomes. You will coordinate all Canadian employee offerings into a cohesive, sustainable and adaptable framework scoped to local resources and capacity. You will also create and manage a measurement strategy, identifying what is working well and where the programs must flex to meet the needs of the learner, leader and/or organization.

You will actively market your educational offerings, share your philosophy around learning, encourage managers to talk up training and development opportunities and integrate into recruitment and onboarding processes. You will own and continue to enhance our Connect-U (onboarding) and Develop-U (ongoing employee development) programs.

You will work closely and build a strong network with the Lilly global leadership development team for expertise, sourcing and replication of content, and alignment of these various learning opportunities to local talent management strategies, succession management, and employee needs. You will be versatile in blended learning and offer virtual and in-class experiences. These programs will range in levels and stages of leadership and therefore must be coordinated in close partnership with business to coordinate timing, phasing and audience for optimal impact.

The Manager, Employee Development and DEI Initiatives will also serve as the co-Chair of the Lilly Canada DEI Council. You will be responsible to lead the annual delivery of prioritized initiatives from the DEI Council and help our affiliate reach its DEI aspirations. You will also ensure optimal connections with the Global DEI office and look for ongoing opportunities to improve the overall employee experience. You will serve as an expert to the different local employee resource groups and other DEI partners for various programing, including cultural events and learning strategies.

Qualifications and Relevant Skills:

5+ Years of learning and development or relevant cross-functional experience. A university degree plus the completion of relevant professional development work (Learning and Development and/or DEI) Capacity to contribute to long-term strategy around building capability and an inclusive culture. Excellent organizational and documenting skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to learn quickly, adopt technology, and lead affiliate-wide projects.  Ability to work collaboratively within various functions and teams in Canada, global DEI office and Leadership Development teams, etc. Ability to Influence in all directions. Anticipate needs and effectively consult with business partners internally and externally. Challenge unit level leaders and business partners to prioritize and align. Comfortably work with ambiguity. Demonstrate high learning agility. Understand and integrate development with other talent management, DEI and HR related programs (pm, development plans, career mapping). Apply knowledge of adult learning, blended learning and modern learning principles. Use multi-media training channels, video training, simulations and role-playing, online training, and gamification. Facilitate in both virtual and live sessions. Use learning management systems such as success factors. Bilingual (English-French) written and verbal skills is an asset.

The position is located in Toronto and office-based employees are expected to be in the office for a minimum of 4-12 days a month. Flexible work arrangement are possible.

Relevant du vice-président associé des ressources humaines et membre de l’équipe des RH, vous collaborerez étroitement avec les équipes interfonctionnelles pour identifier les lacunes en matière de compétences, les capacités priorisées et les résultats de performance souhaités. Vous coordonnerez toutes les offres des employés canadiens dans un cadre cohésif, durable et adaptable qui s’étend aux ressources et à la capacité locales. Vous créerez et gérerez également une stratégie de mesure, identifiant ce qui fonctionne bien et où les programmes doivent s’adapter pour répondre aux besoins de l’apprenant, du leader et / ou de l’organisation.

Vous commercialiserez activement vos offres éducatives, partagerez votre philosophie autour de l’apprentissage, encouragerez les gestionnaires à parler des opportunités de formation et de développement et à vous intégrer dans les processus de recrutement et d’intégration. Vous serez propriétaire et continuerez d’améliorer nos programmes Connect-U (intégration) et Develop-U (développement continu des employés).

Vous travaillerez en étroite collaboration et établirez un solide réseau avec l’équipe de développement du leadership mondial de Lilly pour l’expertise, l’approvisionnement et la réplication du contenu, et l’alignement de ces diverses opportunités d’apprentissage sur les stratégies locales de gestion des talents, la gestion de la relève et les besoins des employés. Vous serez polyvalent dans l’apprentissage mixte et offrirez des expériences virtuelles et en classe. Ces programmes varieront en niveaux et en étapes de leadership et doivent donc être coordonnés en partenariat étroit avec les entreprises afin de coordonner le calendrier, l’échelonnement et le public pour un impact optimal.

Le gestionnaire, Développement des employés et initiatives de DEI, agira également à titre de coprésident du Conseil des DEI de Lilly Canada. Vous serez responsable de diriger la livraison annuelle des initiatives prioritaires du Conseil DEI et d’aider notre affilié à atteindre ses aspirations DEI. Vous assurerez également des connexions optimales avec le bureau Global DEI et rechercherez des opportunités continues pour améliorer l’expérience globale des employés. Vous servirez d’expert auprès des différents groupes de ressources des employés locaux et d’autres partenaires de DEI pour diverses programmations, y compris des événements culturels et des stratégies d’apprentissage.

Qualifications et compétences pertinentes :

• Plus de 5 ans d’expérience en formation ou d’expérience interfonctionnelle pertinente.

• Un diplôme universitaire plus l’achèvement de travaux de perfectionnement professionnel pertinents (apprentissage et perfectionnement et/ou DEI)

• Capacité de contribuer à la stratégie à long terme autour du renforcement des capacités et d’une culture inclusive.

• Excellentes compétences d’organisation et de documentation avec une grande attention aux détails. Capacité d’apprendre rapidement, d’adopter la technologie et de mener des projets à l’échelle des affiliés.

• Capacité de travailler en collaboration au sein de diverses fonctions et équipes au Canada, du bureau mondial de DEI et des équipes de développement du leadership, etc.

• Capacité d’influencer dans toutes les directions.

• Anticiper les besoins et consulter efficacement les partenaires commerciaux à l’interne et à l’externe.

• Mettre au défi les dirigeants au niveau de l’unité et les partenaires commerciaux d’établir des priorités et de s’aligner.

• Travaillez confortablement avec l’ambiguïté.

• Faire preuve d’une grande agilité d’apprentissage.

• Comprendre et intégrer le développement avec d’autres programmes de gestion des talents, de DEI et de RH (pm, plans de développement, planification de carrière).

• Appliquer la connaissance de l’apprentissage des adultes, de l’apprentissage mixte et des principes d’apprentissage moderne.

• Utilisez des canaux de formation multimédias, une formation vidéo, des simulations et des jeux de rôle, une formation en ligne et une ludification. Facilitez les sessions virtuelles et en direct.

• Utiliser des systèmes de gestion de l’apprentissage tels que des facteurs de réussite.

• Les compétences écrites et verbales bilingues (anglais-français) sont un atout.

Le poste est situé à Toronto et les employés de bureau doivent être au bureau pendant au moins 4 à 12 jours par mois. Des conditions de travail flexibles sont possibles.
