As a Laboratory Technician, you will provide a wide range of support to deliver quality analytical services in Water Quality & Regulatory Assurance (WQRA). Primary duties include: Manage sample integrity by utilizing Lab Information Management System (LIMS) operating and maintaining online, field, and analytical lab instruments. Communicate with plant operators, field crews, and contractors. Analyze water, wastewater, and stormwater samples for a variety of regulatory parameters, such as: pH, nutrients, alkalinity, and solids as an example. Follow laboratory quality practices and maintain accurate records in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)/ International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 17025 standard. Perform other laboratory support duties, such as: solution preparation, cleaning glassware, ordering chemical supplies, preparing sample bottles and collecting samples. Qualifications  A completed 2 year technical diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Environmental Sciences, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience in an environmental or water laboratory accredited to ISO17025 standards. A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending OR; a valid Graduated Driver's License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending. Proven organizational, analytical and communication skills and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office are essential for success in this role. Experience with advanced analytical instrumentation and treatment plant process related analyses would be considered assets.

Working Conditions: This position is exposed to chemicals, compressed gases and infectious micro-organisms. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
