Welder-Line Boring Technician

Toromont Cat is looking for a Welder-Line Boring Technician to join our team Welder-Line Boring Techs plays an important role in our Service department providing technical expertise to ensure superior customer service in the maintenance, repair and fabrication of parts and structures in our shop.
As a Welder-Line Boring Technician, YOU will experience:

Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives Operate electric, acetylene and semi-automatic welding and automatic burning equipment effectively and efficiently. Perform line-boring on heavy equipment in shop alongside our experienced technicians to restore equipment to factory specification Fabricate structures from drawings or sketches Maintain quality workmanship to repair Caterpillar equipment within the established time standards out in the shop and field Restore damaged steel and cast iron components by welding, dissembling and assembling relative components Maintain an inventory of materials used for fabrication Maintain and build strong customer relations Execute repairs in the field using our mobile welding and line-boring equipmentMust-haves for this role:
Post-secondary education with a Welder Certificate in GMAW, SMAW and FCAW 3+ years as a professional welder Experience in the repair of heavy construction or mining equipment (Strong Asset) Line-boring or machining experience considered an asset Consideration will be made for journeyman millwright with extensive welding and machining experienceAbout Toromont Cat
