Description

The Shop Technician is responsible for the maintenance of personal monitors, quad head monitors, Rig Rat monitors, hardwire systems and associated gas detection equipment. This includes assisting the Shop Foreman in the maintenance of safety equipment (Safety trailers; SABA / SCBA breathing apparatus; Road Block Kits; etc.) and the safety and maintenance of the facility, company property and the yard.

This position is located in Hamilton, at the Stoney Creek HSE Station. This is a full-time with some occasional and weekends required.

The duties in for this position is (but not limited to):

Duties/Responsibilities Report regularly to the Shop Forewoman or designate for the daily ongoing activities and forecasts Inventory H2S equipment in and report any missing or damaged items Clean, test and inspect equipment Operate B.A. compressor safely & according to company policies and procedures Load H2S trailer with equipment as per job requirements Notify supervisor(s) of status of trailer & equipment Repair or replace H2S equipment (ie. fittings, valves, etc.) Assist other personnel as required Any other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or management Conduct nightly security check of building, vehicles and related equipment Hot shot equipment to field and/or parts runs as required

Employees Safety Responsibilities

Be familiar with and work in accordance with health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures Take reasonable care to use safety and personal protective equipment as required by health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures Report to HSE Integrated supervision and management immediately any incident or condition believed to be hazardous to worker’s health or safety Refuse the work if danger is imminent or not controlled

Requirements

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Good vision / hearing Attend work clean shaven, well groomed, alert and on time each shift Physically capable of performing the following tasks: Working at heights and / or climbing ladders or stairs Working in small / confined spaces Lifting up to 50lbs Pushing / pulling (tools / objects)

Required Certifications & Training

H2S Alive Standard 1st - Aid / CPR Valid unrestricted license with full driving privileges in the province of issue for the specified class of vehicle to be operated on behalf of the company or a higher class of license than that of the vehicle to be operated. HSE Driving program HSE Orientation HSE Respiratory Protection HSE Gas Detection Petroleum Safety Training (PST) & Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) EGSO ~ Enform Fall Protection Basic firefighting Firewatch Conduct equipment maintenance procedures at the field level

*Additional training and certifications may be necessary to meet client specifications.
