YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, you will be part of the Process Plant Department. You will coordinate all activities of the process plant Metallurgists, Metallurgical Technicians and Refiners. You will ensure the good performance of all circuits of the process plant, as well as playing an important role in the review of the key performance indicators (KPI’s), in quality control and budget/cost management. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Ensuring all activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible way; Coordinating activities of the Metallurgical team (including the refinery) to achieve departmental objectives sustainably; Coaching of Metallurgists and Metallurgical Technicians; Planning and budgeting of metallurgical activities with a horizon of 1 year, analyzing needs in terms of procurement (reagents, grinding media, process consumables, etc…), ordering materials and following up on actual costs and variances on a monthly basis; Monitoring sampling results and ensuring sampling plan, practices, mass balance, daily production reports and inventory are accurate; Reviewing and approving the procedures content and ensuring that procedures are followed by employees; Reviewing key performance indicators (KPI’s), deciding on corrective measures to be taken, communicating these to the team and monitoring the results; Promoting continuous optimization of the process, identifying proactively areas of improvement, coordinating trials, documenting findings in reports, acting as change agent, keeping the control plans up-to-date; Ensuring proper transfer of information with the cross shift.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

University degree in Metallurgical / Mineral Processing Engineering or related discipline; 5+ years of experience in mining process plant operations; Sound technical and analytical skills, good practical judgment; Strong ability/knowledge in process plant operation/maintenance is an asset; Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint; Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.
