Position Title: Delivery Driver

Location of Work: Banff, Alberta with weekly travel to CMH locations in British Columbia

Position Overview

The Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering, loading, and unloading goods throughout the business and requires a safe, efficient, responsible driver to follow a rigid delivery schedule. This position plays a key role in supporting the logistics of our business. The Delivery Driver is also responsible for vehicle inspections and following safe driving best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Transport goods to CMH locations on a specified schedule, including travel on logging roads. Safely execute driving days in mountainous conditions with varied weather. Ability to load and unload goods from our warehouse to various remote and town-based locations. Perform basic vehicle maintenance, inspections, and cleanliness tasks. Load and unload trucks with the use of a walk-behind forklift and pallet jack. Follow all policies related to OH&S and the CMH Vehicle Policy. Help support implementation of CMH health and safety initiatives. Help support implementation of CMH sustainability initiatives. Train, participate in and provide support, as required, during emergency response situations. Support guests and employees in the field program during area visits, as needed. 

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid class 3 driver’s license with a clean driving record. Automobile insurance history for a minimum of 3 years Air Brakes Endorsement. Off-highway (logging road) driving experience, an asset. Experience driving manual, heavy-duty vehicles. Experience in a delivery driver role, preferred. Experience in the ski industry, preferred. First aid certificate, preferred.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualities

Ability to comfortably to chain-up axles as required. Demonstrates integrity, discretion, and problem solving. Able to identify potential issues and quickly work with the team to manage and respond to such situations in a timely and professional manner. Has demonstrated attention-to-detail. Able to communicate in an effective and timely manner over the phone, in-person, and in written communication. Positive and collaborative working style with an ability to build meaningful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and professional working relationships with peers. Able to prioritize tasks in a complex and fast-paced environment with seasonal workload fluctuations and changing priorities. Confidence to interact with all levels of the company in a hub-and-spoke model in which many individuals are remote. Trustworthy, goal-oriented, respectful, and self-directed in completing the core functions of the role. Sees projects through to completion including follow-up on any identified issues. Strong sense of work ethic and accountability, with an ability to function well in a team environment and focus on team success. Effectively prioritize tasks, responsibilities, and goals; use goals to guide actions and create detailed action plans.

Working Conditions

Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. This position is required, on a regular basis, to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business.  This position will require travel to CMH areas, which may require staying at a CMH lodge or a town nearby for consecutive days based on the delivery schedule. This schedule may fluctuate due to weather or road closures along the delivery route.
