Duties & Responsibilities
Key Performance Expectations:
Greets Guests with an authentic warm welcome, eye contact, natural smile, open body language. Engages Guests effectively to enhance their dining experience. Utilizes a deep knowledge of spirits, wines, beers and various other ingredients to mix and serve beverages with precision. Adapts and modifies drinks according to guest’s preferences or dietary restrictions to mix and serve beverages with precision and artistry. Creates complex layers of flavours by carefully measuring and combining ingredients. Acts as an ambassador for the bar by engaging with guest in friendly conversation, explaining drink options, and offering recommendations. Creates a welcoming environment and provides exceptional guest experience. Provides complete and timely communication to Guests and other Team Members throughout the shift. Manages Guest complaints and takes appropriate action to ensure their satisfaction. Communicates all Guest concerns to Manager and takes appropriate action to ensure delivery of excellent service. Inspires and supports other Team Members with the skills to teach others and advance our learning culture. Assists with training and supporting Team Members on restaurant processes and procedures. Is neat and well-groomed for every shift and in immaculate and proper work attire, according to the Brand Uniform Standards. Is prepared to conduct daily and weekly maintenance duties. Demonstrates exceptional knowledge of all food and beverage items. Attends all pre-shift and food meetings to learn of daily features, events, VIP Guests, and important shift information. Inspects the bar area and stocks the necessary supplies to execute each shift to standard. Serves alcohol to Guests following Provincial liquor laws and responsible alcohol service standards. Inspects food orders to ensure food items meet Guest’s order, quality, and appearance standards. High level of menu knowledge to make suggestions, promote menu items and increase sales. Enters beverage and food items into POS system in proper time and sequence. Communicates all special requests and allergy concerns to the Expeditor and/or Manager. Returns orders to kitchen or bar, if necessary, to ensure delivery of excellent food and beverage. Responsible for inventory levels in the bar area to ensure adequate supplies are available. Receives and stocks liquor deliveries. Wraps and rotates extra product to maximize product shelf life. Cleans bar equipment by disassembling/reassembling pieces according to established standards. Prepares drinks using ingredients and bar equipment to fill Guests’ drink orders. Responsible for following SIRs Proper Cash Handling procedures. Performs opening, closing, and maintenance duties to prepare for the next shift’s operation. Checks out with a Manager before leaving to ensure all duties and side work have been completed and performed Understands and adheres to all safety, sanitation, and administrative procedures. Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, and SIR Corp. Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Proven work experience as a mixologist or bartender in a reputable establishmentComprehensive knowledge of alcoholic and non- alcoholic beverages, including spirits, wines, and beers.Strong mixology and bartending skills, including a full understanding of cocktail recipes, preparation techniques and proper use of bar tools.Excellent communication skills to ensure our guest have an exceptional experience.Ability to work in a fast pace environment and manage multiple drink orders simultaneously.Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as requiredFormal training or certification preferred and WSET Level 2 recommended.Physical Requirements:
Ability to bend at the waist and lift items up to 80 lbs. (e.g., beer keg) to waist level.Ability to move items up to 80 lbs. for distances of up to 25 feet.Ability to remain standing and active for an 8-12 hour shift, with approved break periods.Ability to hear, understand, and respond to Team Members’ and Guests’ requests in a loud environment.Skill and coordination at using hands to pour drinks, carry several glasses at once, and cut garnishes.Minimum Qualifications:Ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing.Available to work all restaurants operating hours based on said set availability.Must meet Provincial legal minimum age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages.Smart Serve certification is a must.Reliable transportation to and from work.Ability to perform basic math functions.Previous serving experience is an asset.Ability to understand and follow direction from others.Service Inspired Restaurants® is committed to fair and equitable recruiting practices.
