Performs together with the Operations and Accounting team all duties associated with Banking, Inventory and Cost accounting, General Ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions Performs full cycle month-end close process including preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations Prepares monthly credit card reconciliations and related journal entries Prepares Financial statements and commentary Hands on responsibility for Payroll, Inventory and cost accounting functions Works closely with other team members to coordinate responsibilities and prioritize tasks to ensure that all key deadlines are met Prepares monthly tax Journal entries and liase with tax consultants Provides direction and feedback to accounting team Assists in the preparation for the annual internal and external audit Participates in the rollout of finance projects and initiatives Identifies opportunities for efficiencies and improvements Performs other duties as required Owns all adhoc projects and assignments that are assigned and related to Canada entity

Qualifications and Core Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from an accredited institute or equivalent experience Minimum of 5 years of Canadian and/or US accounting experience. Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language. Bilingual English/French a plus. Advanced computer skills including ERP systems, Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Word and Excel) Proactive problem-solving/judgment skills Able to communicate effectively. Attention to detail Organized, proactive and self-motivated individual capable of producing results and meeting deadlines Expected to manage work with minimum supervision
