Tomlinson is Eastern Canada’s leader in environmental, construction and transportation infrastructure services. Our Sewer and Watermain team is currently seeking to Deckmen to join their team. This position provides full-time hours and working from Monday to Friday, from 7:00AM to 5:30PM. The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and their own transportation to get to site.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:

This position is to ensure that the material and tools are ready for the crew use Responsible for inspecting and maintaining lifting devices and hand tools. Also, having the ability to notify Foreman defective tools and equipment Familiarity with the process of how pipe is installed is put in the ground and being able to anticipate what is needed to the fellow workers in the trench. Knowledgeable of using a variety of hand tools and ability to cut pipe of various material Read grade stakes and have the ability to set up laser Working knowledge of pipe and fittings utilized in sewer and water main work. Ability to work with others and take direction from the foreman on site Help locate and expose underground utilities by hand Ability to complete work efficiently and correctly with minimal supervision Work in a safe manner to ensure safety of self and co-workers Good organizational skills with the ability to look ahead Not only limited to above

REQUIREMENTS:

3-5 years of experience working in a construction industry Valid driver’s license with own transportation is required Health and Safety training/Knowledge- Confined Space, trenching and excavation, First Aid/CPR an asset Hoisting & Rigging Training Ability to work in all different types of weather conditions Potential for weekend work and working nights as needed
