We currently have a great opportunity for a 12 month contract as a PIM Project Draftsperson This role will be based in our office in Toronto, ON office and reports to the Products Drawing Team Lead.

Job Responsibilities
The PIM Project Draftsperson is responsible for working with the Product Drawings Team Lead on PIM Projects of a technical nature, delegated from our Oakville team.
Key responsibilities
Reverse engineering of products, parts & components into CAD software using a variety of tools and techniques, including 3D scanners, hand tools, CMMCreate and revise technical drawings and CAD models following IPEX, US and Canadian standards and specificationsPeriodic travel to other IPEX facilities for data gatheringPartake in maintaining 5S standards and implementing continuous improvement projectsOther Duties as required or assignedFollow plant health, safety and environmental policies, rules and regulations.Monitor and report health, safety and environmental hazards to supervisor and/or JHSC member (Reference HSE 12.0)Serve on the Joint Health and Safety Committee when requested (Reference HSE 8.0)Provide equipment specific training for new employees as necessaryUse PPE as requiredEnsure that equipment and tools are maintained in good and safe working condition. Report any damaged equipment or tools to SupervisorTake every precaution reasonable to protect the safety of other employeesParticipate in Accident/Incident Investigations in compliance with HSE 11.0 as required by providing all necessary detailed information during the process.Participate in implementation of corrective actions as assigned arising from HSE activitiesFollow Refusal to Work Procedure when applicable (Reference HSE 48.0)Ensure the policies and practices of HSEMS are adhered to dailyJob Requirements
Completion of a University Degree or Technical College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferredExperience in 3D model design using CAD/CAM softwareExperience dealing with cross-functional teams an assetExperience using SolidWorks is requiredExperience in other CAD software is an assetExperience with technical measuring tools (calipers, Telescoping gauges, etc) is an assetGood written and verbal communication skillsGood problem solving & analytical skillsAble to draw conclusions from available information, validating assumptions as requiredAble to work independently with minimal supervisionApplied knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and other MS Office applicationsExperience with VBA is an assetAble to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneouslyExperience with Injection Molding / Plastics Manufacturing is an AssetIPEX is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process and, upon request, will work with qualified job applicants to provide suitable accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicant’s accessibility needs due to disability.
