Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada's outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas, and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.

EDUCATION :

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination* of education, training and experience.

* An acceptable combination of education and experience means: Three years of completed secondary education and a minimum of twenty-four months of work experience.

EXPERIENCE :

Significant work Experience in the fields of maintenance household in an commercial installation, community, institutional or public.
Experience in delivery of services to the public.

NOTE:

Definition "Significant work Experience": Work Experience during at least twelve months which the candidate had the responsibility to conduct a significant portion of tasks related to maintenance household.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION - ASSET :

Experience as a Visitor Facilities Attendant at the Parks Canada Agency.
Team Leadership Assumes a supervisory role by assessing employee performance and helping others achieve excellent results.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :

Obtain and maintain Reliability Status security clearance.
Possession of a valid Driver's license 5.

OPERATIONNAL REQUIREMENTS :

Conduct repetitive tasks.
Stand, bend, stretch and work from ladders.
Perform tasks requiring physical strength, i.e. lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crouching and reaching above shoulder.
Travel to various outdoor sites with some exposure to weather elements.
Be exposed to noxious odors from cleaning products.
Occasionally demonstrate tasks to others.
Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required.
Wear a Parks Canada uniform.
