Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy

The Senior Manager of Commercial Strategy & Operations plays a pivotal role in driving revenue through innovative, technology-based programs while strategically positioning the organization for future growth. Collaborating closely with key stakeholders from Engineering, Product, Finance, Marketing, and Partnerships, this role orchestrates the planning, pursuit, evaluation, and realization of opportunities, ensuring maximum business impact.
Ideal candidates are self-starters accustomed to dynamic, fast-paced environments, and adept at managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Possessing strong business acumen, you excel in translating insights into actionable strategies and recommendations. Proficiency in crafting compelling presentations and documentation for diverse audiences is essential. - Manage MLSE’s R&D Innovation program focused on developing cutting-edge sports technologies.
- Establish and nurture relationships with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, to conceptualize, design, and implement solutions aligned to organizational goals.
- Manage innovation funds and budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to achieve project goals.
- Lead client relationships, ensuring their needs are understood and met through innovative technology solutions.
- Evaluate internal IP (products and solutions) for commercial potential, including conducting feasibility and business case analysis, and competitive market research.
- Work with Technology & Digital team to develop funding roadmaps required to scale products to be commercially viable.
- Support with department-wide budgeting and forecasting to achieve financial targets.
- Collaborate with corporate partners to develop activations that leverage technology to enhance fan experiences and drive sponsorship value.
- Collaborate with our Partnership Development team on developing value propositions associated with new technology-based partnerships, working to embed new partners within our core business operations.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging idea generation and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications

- A graduate with a post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or other relevant area.
- At least 5 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, commercial strategy, business operations, or product strategy
- Proven track record of effectively overseeing projects or a portfolio of innovation initiatives from inception to completion.
- Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence across all levels of the organization.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Experience managing a team and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Solid understanding of business financials and demonstrated capability in managing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics.
- Skilled in effectively communicating with clients, managing their inquiries, and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
