for the Fall 2024 semester


DISCIPLINE:                      ITALIAN (609)    
TYPE OF CONTRACT:   
Part-time contract representing full and/or part-time workload.             
AREA OF EXPERTISE:    To teach Italian as a second language to students enrolled in pre-university and/or professional programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ITALIAN (608)
•    BA degree in Italian, or native or near native fluency, AND a degree in one of these areas: 
•    Master’s degree or equivalent* in Italian Literature, Teaching Italian as a Second/Foreign Language, Comparative Literature (with Italian Literature as one of the two comparative points), Linguistics (with a thesis on an Italian subject), Comparative Linguistics (with a thesis on an Italian subject) or in a related field that encompasses the Italian language and/or culture.  
•    Related teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred 
•    Demonstrated ability to collaborate within departmental team to achieve common objectives 
•    Fluency in both English and Italian
•    Bilingualism (English/French) and ability to teach in French are preferred, as in the context of Bill 96 and the changes to the Charte de la langue française, if there is a need, the candidate must be willing and able to teach in French.

*    Equivalent establishes a general comparison between two official education systems
