DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Reviews examination applications from students to ensure they meet the standards and requirements required by TRU.
  2. Working with the Exams Supervisor to establish approved examination schedules for Open Learning courses, where required.
  3. Reviews possible exam centres within and outside British Columbia that may be used by students.
  4. Coordinates exam centre activities which may include booking centres, assigning invigilators to each exam session, instructing invigilators on tasks, and ensuring TRU-OL standards are maintained.
  5. Prepares and ships student and contract client examinations to, and from, examination centres, and ensures on time delivery utilizing appropriate security measures. This will include digital scanned delivery when possible.
  6. Delivers examinations to TRU-OL Faculty Members. 
  7. Monitors and maintains inventory of exams.
  8. Communicates with students via various mediums to deal with exam issues and general inquiries.
  9. Coordinates and sets-up virtual exams for Open Learning courses.
  10. Investigates and makes recommendations about academic integrity concerns related to OL courses Examinations and other assessments, as needed.
  11. Works with Accessibility Services to ensure proper accommodations are established for students requiring support in assessments

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • Grade 12 and the completion of a 2 year diploma in the area of Office Administration/Administration Management/Education or a related area


EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years experience including:
    • Supporting students at distance
    • Scheduling systems, logistics and inventory management
    • Using educational tools such as LMS and virtual proctoring systems
    • Investigating concerns related to academic integrity


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITIES RELATED TO THE JOB

  • Excellent communication, organizational skills and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Research and negotiation skills 
  • Accurate keyboarding skills 
  • Attention to detail and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, Microsoft Office (primarily Excel and Word), Outlook or similar e-mail communication system


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Sitting at a desk and computer for long periods of time
  • Contact with staff and customers
  • General office conditions
  • Ability to lift weights up to 10 kg
     

 

The salary for the above position is determined by the Collective Agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 4879, as it presently exists.
