Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Minimum 2 years of recent and relevant experience in control panel assembly and wiring. Electrical training and certification would be an asset.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in reading schematic diagrams. Experience working with a variety of wire types including TW, THM, shielded, communication, thermocouple, RJ45 etc., with wire gauges ranging from 4 to 28. Familiarity with a wide range of tools, including open/close/socket wrenches, SAE and metric pneumatic tools, hand tools, crimping tools, and wire strippers.

Control Panel Assembly:

Ability to lay out components on the backplate based on the panel’s bill of materials, including breakers, PLC, VFD, relay, switches, transformer, power supply, duct, terminals, etc. Proficiency in wiring panels, selecting the appropriate gauge and colour of wire. Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, including layout, wiring, and schematic diagrams. Using hand and power tools to complete necessary work.

Quality and Safety:

Perform QA/QC checks as required under the supervision of the QA/QC lead. Assist with safety-related tasks such as inspections. Maintain Cleanliness and organization of the work area. Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities:

Assemble and wire control panels/modules according to drawings, client specifications, and industry best practices. Layout components and materials as per drawings and specifications. Perform pre-build component inspections. Neatly route wires and cables to ensure wiring standards are met. Assemble electrical control panels, junction boxes, PLC cabinets, VFD package enclosures, and junction boxes. Fabricate to print, including layout, mounting, and wiring of components. Perform point-to-point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I/O modules, VFDS, and instruments. Troubleshoot panels to identify and eliminate wiring errors and component failures, ensuring proper operation. Maintain an efficient and organized work environment. Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Hours of Work:

Hours of work will typically be Monday-Friday with some Saturday work.
