Rink Attendant

The City of Cornwall is a progressive community of 47,000 situated on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Eastern Ontario.  Cornwall boasts a modern economy led by forward thinkers and offers an extensive array of urban amenities making it an excellent place to build a career and raise a family. 

Our recreation department is looking for temporary Rink Attendant Positions. These positions would assist in running recreational programming, which includes janitorial duties, completing set ups and tear downs for events (indoor and outdoor) based on the patron’s needs, rink attendant duties, litter and garbage collection, and special event services. 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Moving hockey nets for rink operators during flood schedules.
• Cleaning Dressing rooms between ice rentals.
• Emptying garbage throughout the facilities.
• Cleaning staff and public washrooms.
• Assisting in sets ups or tear downs in multiple meeting rooms.
• Switching out Pickle Ball and Tennis nets for clients.
• Moping and sweeping all spectator seating.
• Shoveling snow away from exit doors.
• All other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Currently enrolled in secondary or post-secondary education.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, customer service and public relations skills.
• Must be able to work all required shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Some heavy lifting may be required. 
• G2 license
